HEROES NEVER DIE
THE BEGINNING OF THE END
The world was on the brink of destruction. A darkness descended upon the lands, and with it came the armies of the undead. Skeletons and zombies, risen from their graves, marched relentlessly towards the kingdoms of men.
The people were terrified. Their armies were no match for this new threat. The undead were immune to most weapons and spells, and they seemed to have no fear of death.
THE LAST STAND
The great heroes of the land knew that something had to be done. They gathered what remained of the armies of the free peoples, and they marched towards the heart of the undead forces.
The battle was fierce. The ground shook as the armies clashed. The heroes fought with all their might, and for a while, it seemed they might prevail. But the undead were relentless. They just kept coming, and soon the heroes were surrounded by a sea of bones and rotting flesh.
THE FINAL SACRIFICE
It was then that the greatest hero of them all stepped forward. His name was not important, for he knew that he would not survive this day. But he had a plan.
He urged his fellow heroes to retreat, to leave him alone with the undead. They hesitated, but they knew that there was no other way. They left him there, surrounded by the enemy.
What happened next was not witnessed by anyone alive. Some say that the hero fought with a fury that was not of this world. Others say that he used a spell so powerful that it destroyed all the undead in one fell swoop. Whatever the truth may be, the hero was never seen again. His sacrifice had saved the world.
And so, the world was left with a bleak and barren land, covered in the remains of the undead hordes. But it was still a world, and the living remained. They mourned their losses, honored their heroes, and looked to the future with hope.
For even though the hero was gone, his legend lived on. And as long as there are legends, there will always be heroes. And heroes, as we all know, never die.
